why horse riding is the most dangerous sport

Horse riding isn't easy, every time you ride a horse or even be around a horse you're risking your
life. The most simple activities could injure yourself seriously or potentially end it all.
It could be from just simply standing in the paddock with a horse, the horse could kick you, bite
you, charge at you, or bowl you over. They could kill you in an instant if they wanted to, and the
only thing stopping them is the bond you have with them.

There are many ways that horse riding is the most dangerous sport, and riding them is only one
of them. Even just sitting on one standing still could hurt you. The horse could rear, buck, bolt, pig root and kick. You may have a simple fall and only need to rest on the ground, but there's still nothing stopping the horse from kicking you or even running you over.
They can stop without warning, and throw you into fences, they can break your bones, and your
confidence in one simple movement.
But we still choose to be with them anyway.

Have you played a team sport? if you have you would know that you rely on communication to
guide your team to the winning spot. Imagine working in a team with someone that doesn't speak
your language, that is 3 times the size of you. Imagine falling from a 2-meter drop suddenly
without warning. what if your teammate was affected by how fast your heart rate was.
Imagine being scared for your life, but calming yourself anyway so it doesn't scare or affect your
team member.

a long walk to water

I think he would share. he's really kind, and he doesn't want people getting hurt/ dying so I think he would share. but also think he wouldn't because he would think of his family and his uncle and hed keep it to himself to survive.

he probably wants to go back and fight to protect his country.

the groups attitude changes because they didn't have and uncle to guide them, and uncle wasn't there to make them share food with saliva.

because the remembers that uncle said that the village was destroyed. and many were killed so Salva knew it wasn't her

music

in music, we have been doing guitar and piano.
the class is learning smelly cat sung by phoebe in friends.
were going to have a mixture of piano guitar and drums.
I want to do piano.
I've learned how to play the piano cords and some of the guitar cords for smelly cat.
I'm looking forward to when the whole class does the song together.

long walk to water

he overcame his fear by distracting himself, and with his uncle reassuring him.
I've experienced fear like that, I don't really know how I overcame it, just telling myself it's going to be ok.

I think it was the dessert because the sun is harsh and there thousands of miles without water, and they have to savour all the water so they can survive.

don't take everything for granted.

long walk to water

they didn't want him to come along because he's slower than them, and they have another mouth to feed. I think it's horrible that they would reject him because they know he won't survive on his own.

because spent most of her time trying to get it.

I've learned that my life is a lot easier than I thought it was like I don't have to walk 8 hours a day to get water, I just need to take a few steps.
I've learned that there is a bird that can lead you to honey.
I think save is doing really well because he's going so long without water and food, and he's had to make big adjustments.

she has to collect water all day still. but she doesn't have a shelter, her dad and her brother.

the rocket challenge

in class, we have been making rockets. Over the last 7 weeks, we have been learning with a guy and he taught us about aerodynamics and Issac newtons laws of physics.

We used plastic bottles, and we cut out fins with ice cream containers.  I learnt that the rocket flies differently, the more different the wings are. our wings were too big, and the rocket didn't go that far, I think it was because of the fins shape, I think if we made them smaller and put them further down the bottle it would have gone further.

Before we blasted the rockets off, we connected the rockets to a nozzle and filled them up with 300ML of water, then we pumped the air into the rocket 60PSI, then we counted down from 5 and on 0 it blasted off.

Science Roadshow

Science Roadshow

At the start of the science roadshow they talked to us about gravity and how it works, and did some demonstrations, like putting a cup of water on a plate with strings attached to it, and swung it around, the cup of water stayed on the plate even when he swung it in a loop and over his head.
And then after that, they let us wander around and look at little science setups. my favourite one was probably the bed of nails, the bed of nails was a bed of nails sticking up, which are quite sharp, but you don't get stabbed by any of them.
Then they called us back and told us about atoms, they create up everything in the universe. they showed us some reactions that can happen if you mix some of them together. when they mixed some of them and blew them through fire, the fire turned blue, pink, and red. And then they lit something on fire and it exploded, it looked like a small atomic bomb mushroom.

And then they but "elephant toothpaste " in with foam, and it shot up in the air and kept going, and started spilling out of the cups they were in, luckily they were in a bucket.

                                                            get new Zealand writing

First, the class did a vote on what should be on the poster.

this is the poster
Then we were given an object in a bag, and we had to feel and think of some words that could describe it. When we opened the bag this was my object.

This was the object I was given, it was an artificial sapphire

Then I started to make my poem, the poem the class had to do was an anagram poem.

My anagram word ended up being bork clue, which was an anagram for blue rock.

Then we coloured in the back of the little postcards, and it made a big poster that said " write your own story.

JPEG Image
there were 32 postcards
And then we packed them up and we shipped them off to a school in Aukland. And now we're waiting to get one from another school in Aukland
